Something different...
So here I am in Chicago, until Friday, at this year's ACGA conference. There's a jolly great lake outside my hotel window, and a couple of eights training up one of the "canals." Not a cloud in the sky, and really quite charming for my first visit to the world's 25th largest city.
You never cease to amaze me. The Amercian Community Gardening Association. Or was that the Association of Clay and Glass Artists. Perhaps the Asian Corporate Governance Association. American Corn Growers Association? An Comunn GĂ idhealach Ameireaganach? Nope - must be the African Caribbean Golf Association.
You do realize that you are one hour's drive away from a Saturday and/or Sunday paddle with the world's friendliest kayakers? Amtrak can get you up here, as well, and we have lots of spare clothing and equipment. You would be greeted like royalty! Just say the word.
Kiwi born and bred with a passion for sailing, tramping, telemark skiing and ski mountaineering, mountain climbing and sea kayaking - the latter being the overriding one for the moment. Left NZ in 1989 and have lived in the UK, NYC, Rotterdam, San Diego and now Durham, NC.
